Who doesn't love ice cream?!

You know what I really ❤️ about cooking, creating recipes and grocery shopping? Finding healthy substitutes for some of the foods I used to love growing up. Foods I used to eat before I had the knowledge about wholesome ingredients. Foods that will forever be nostalgic. The difference? I'm now making them in a healthier, cleaner way!

Ice cream is one of those foods that I'm talking about! I went from processed ingredients that left me feeling bloated and crappy to wholesome, real food that satisfies my craving 💯

When going out to dinner this weekend try and give yourself a challenge. If you find yourself wanting to order dessert off the menu, perhaps you opt out and instead, head home to satisfy that sweet tooth - HOMEMADE! That's what I do! Dessert isn't something to ever give up 🙅‍♀️ however, finding a nutritious way to incorporate it into your diet is the key.

I know most of us have heard of 🍌 ice cream and this simple recipe isn't to blow anyones mind here, but it only contains 4 ingredients and such a great reminder that "whole food" eating isn't hard to do! This recipe is nutritious and just as tasty as any other dessert!

Anyone looking to lose weight, avoid the bloat, ease digestion, maintain energy, control metabolism + add in some essential nutrients WITHOUT restricting yourself (and umm..who DOESN'T fall into this category? 😁) then this ones for you!

I made this 🍦 concoction for the first time Wednesday evening with pineapple instead of my usual berries and I'm officially obsessed! Lastly, I knew I was ending the day needing a little more protein so I chose to use protein powder in this - always a great option! (If you'd like, you can swap out the protein for cacao powder)

Creamy, chocolatey with a hint of summer 🍍

🍌 Banana Ice Cream 🍌


1 frozen banana

1/4 cup frozen pineapple

2 TBS chocolate protein powder

1 cup almond milk


Add frozen banana and pineapple to blender firstPour about 1/2 cup of milk inAdd protein powderBlend! Check to see how thick the ice cream is, if it does in fact need more milk, add in a little at a time. You DONT want it too liquidy otherwise it's no longer ice cream 😋

‼️ Note: If you've never made banana ice cream before, know that you can make this super versatile. Options include: vanilla protein powder instead of chocolate, using any other frozen fruit in place of the pineapple, you can even add toppings! Shredded coconut, cinnamon, cacao nibs, sliced berries, peanut butter - the options are endless!
